The greatest influences to Joey’s style of writing and singing are old cars, six guns, God, trains, black and white anything, war, politics, hypocrisy, and love.
As far as other artists who have had an effect:
Bob Dylan (early acoustic years), Johnny Cash (Joey’s son is named Cash), Hank Williams (the FIRST!), Marty Robbins, Woodie Guthrie, and, well that’s saying a lot right there.
Lyrically driven, Joey’s songs come out like psalms to a new generation of old souls. Some are lighthearted, and some require you to think, but all are worthy of listening.
